Theresa Snow, Vermont Foodbank employee, wins e-chievement Award

Barre, VT—The Vermont Foodbank is proud to announce that Theresa Snow, Program Director of Agricultural Resources, has been awarded the etown e-chievement award for her work with Salvation Farms, a gleaning project started in the Lamoille Valley.

Etown is a national syndicated radio show, whose mission is to educate, entertain and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation.  One of the show's most popular segments is the e-chievement award. Listeners from around the country send in tales of remarkable individuals who are working hard to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.

Theresa co-founded Salvation Farms with colleague Jen O’Donnell in 2004 to rescue produce from Vermont fields to share with low-income people within the region.  In its first three years, Salvation Farms gleaned 88,000 pounds of produce for hungry Vermonters.  Now a program of the Vermont Foodbank, Theresa is working to replicate the Salvation Farms model around the state.

The etown show that acknowledges Theresa and Salvation Farms will air on the Point Radio Network and will be available online http://www.etown.org/listen.members.audio.php
