VPT to air program on coping with food costs


Vermont Public Television's "Public Square" special, airing Thursday at 8 p.m., offers advice on how Vermonters can cope with the rising cost of food.

Viewers will be invited to participate with questions and comments at 1-866-424-LIVE during the program.

The host is Kristin Carlson. Panelists will include Roger Allbee, secretary, Vermont Department of Agriculture; John Barbour, executive director, Champlain Valley Agency on Aging; Doug O'Brien, acting CEO, Vermont Foodbank; and Renee Richardson, director, food and nutrition programs, Vermont Agency of Human Services.

"Public Square" is intended to increase awareness of community issues and provide helpful information to Vermonters.
