International recording star KT Tunstall, she of the humble roots busking on the Church Street Marketplace one summer in the early '90s, is playing a quickie gig Saturday afternoon at Higher Ground in South Burlington.
It's a benefit for the Vermont Foodbank, and it's being organized by the Montpelier-based radio station The Point. The Foodbank was one of the organizations that benefited from Tunstall's impromptu session on Church Street before her Higher Ground show last year.
According to Zeb Norris, The Point's program director, only 100 people will be admitted to the show, and all the tickets will be through on-air giveaways today and Friday from the station. Tunstall will play only four songs, Norris said, with backing from a couple of singers and her effects boxes.
The Scottish singer's next album, "Drastic Fantastic," is due out Sept. 18, and is the follow-up to her multi-million-selling debut "Eye to the Telescope."
